Ascension Macomb-Oakland Emergency Center

The Emergency Center at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus, has been expanded thanks to generous philanthropic support from Leo and Bertranda Deutschmann. The couple gave a $1 million gift as gesture of appreciation for the care they received over the years at the hospital and from their physicians, especially Dr. Robert Moore.

The expansion of 1,500-square feet allows the medical staff to triage and treat an additional 50 patients a day by streamlining and expediting patient care for the approximately 70,000 patients who come to the hospital for emergency care annually. Ambulatory patients are cared for in an enhanced environment with 11 additional treatment spaces, allowing for greater efficiency and patient privacy. Patients are now seen more timely, and the new ambulatory space frees up the main area of the Emergency Center for more major injuries and illnesses.

Besides the Deutschmanns’ gift, the hospital's Volunteer Auxiliary supported the Emergency Center with $200,000, and the physicians of Diagnostic Cardiology Consultants, PC, gave $50,000.
