Assistance Programs - Fund Descriptions
Associate Hardship Fund (34022-SY26E2) Provides confidential financial assistance to Ascension associates in Southeast Michigan whose resources are limited and who are experiencing a legitimate and immediate financial hardship; doing so in a way that is genuinely respectful without fostering dependency.
Because We Care Breast Program (34022-SY2PV5) Provides support for breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment for uninsured and underinsured women living in Southeast Michigan; utilized by all Ascension hospitals and sites in Southeast Michigan.
Believe in Miracles Fund (34016-WR2PA8) Provides outpatient medications, nutritional supplements and financial assistance to oncology patients in need at Ascension Providence Hospital; a social worker determines eligibility.

* The Helping Our Patients in Emergencies (HOPE) Fund exists to help patients with limited financial resources or insurance coverage, who have immediate needs after a hospital stay. A few examples include: prescriptions, medical equipment, financial support for basic living needs such as food, assistance with utility bills to ensure a safe environment, gas cards to keep medical follow-up appointments, etc., as determined by a social worker.
Hospice Program Support Fund (34016-AH2697) Supports local pediatric and adult hospice patients served through Reverence Home Health & Hospice. Funds are for the immediate needs of the hospice patient only.
Van Elslander Cancer Center’s Needy Patient Fund (34022-SJ2678) Helps the uninsured, underinsured and needy patients at the Van Elslander Cancer Center.
